Menus
At J B Parker's we like to think we offer the perfect menu for every taste, time, occasion and budget.
Wine Tuesdays
Our fantastic venue incorporates one of the most beautiful
wine cellars in Guernsey. It is also stocked up with some of
the best examples of classic, quirky and iconic wines we can
find. We want to bring that experience even closer to you with
our JB's Wine Tuesdays.
Every Tuesday from 6.00pm, you can have any wine from our
list, including wines by the glass for 20% OFF their listed
price! Upgrade your Prosecco to a Champagne, try that illusive
vintage wine, or gamble on a fun wine just because why not.
You can also experience 16 premium wines displayed in our wine
tasting machine with tasting cards also discounted by 20%. The
machine offers you three measures of each wine, a 50ml taster,
a drive safe 125ml measure and a regular 175ml glass, so you
can tailor both your budget and your experience.
Lastly, but definitely not least, you can bring your own
bottle! We are wine lovers ourselves and we know how annoying
it is, to not have a proper occasion to open that one special
bottle, that is slowly gathering dust on our shelf at home.
So, at JB Parker's, you can bring your own bottle anytime you
want, but if you bring it on Tuesday, we will even waive the
corkage fee! We will serve it, decant it and pour it for you
and we will even do the dishes.
JB's Wine Tuesdays - every Tuesday from 6.00pm.

J B Parker's - A Potted History
Jack Buller Parker was born in Bristol on 12th January
1900 the second youngest of a family of 8. He married Ella
Bennett in 1926, and they then came to Guernsey along with
his older brother Seymour. Jack and Ella had a lease on
the Golden Lion Pub and lived in the flat above. ( Seymour
and his wife Ruth also took on the Swan pub.) Their only
daughter Sheila was born in 1931.
In 1940 with the imminent threat of invasion Ella returned
to Bristol with Sheila, and Jack remained in Guernsey
however along with other British Nationals in 1942 he was
deported to Laufen in Germany where he remained until the
end of the war. Returning after the war they continued to
run the Golden Lion for another 11 years. In the meantime
Sheila had met and married a young Austrian who had moved
to the island, and so in 1956 the foursome took over the
lease of Moores Hotel. (The first step in the founding of
the Sarnia Hotel group). Jack looked after the public bar
- aptly named Jack's bar. Over the year's Jack's bar has
had many incarnations: the Almanac, the Pollet Bar,
latterly the Library and now JB Parker's.
